The official Durango event. Foraging tours, wild mushroom gastronomy, science, culture, and nature deep in the Sierra Madre Occidental.
Official Event
Hostal Mexiquillo
Mexico is known as one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet. Every rainy season, the pine and oak forests surrounding the small town of La Ciudad completely transform into an extraordinary scene.
We started the Durango Mushroom Festival to connect travelers, scientists, and locals with the mind-blowing world of fungi.
Fast forward nine years, and it’s officially the ultimate mycotourism gathering in Northern Mexico.
If this sounds like your kind of trip... We'll see you in La Ciudad!
Where science, culture, and nature meet.

DURANGO MUSHROOM FESTIVAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
Our main host and organizer. A nature tourism project promoting authentic experiences, local development, and the conservation of Durango's natural and cultural heritage.
Championing environmental education and best practices for the responsible use of natural resources.
Fungi Kitchen and Biofactory driving the research and sharing of traditional gastronomy based on wild and cultivated mushrooms.
Spreading the stories, traditions, and natural treasures that make our state unique.
Documenting and preserving the audiovisual memory of this vital biocultural heritage.
This organizing committee works side-by-side to make the Durango Mushroom Festival a reality. We believe in the forest's power to unite, teach, and heal us. Huge thanks to everyone who makes this encounter with nature possible.
